The Solon Intermediate School addition will have 9 new classrooms and a gymnasium. The new addition will open in August 2025 and welcome 3rd grade. Coming this Fall is a new playground.
3rd grade had a blast on their field trip to Ushers Ferry. Students learned about what life was like for families that immigrated to the Cedar Rapids area between 1890 and 1910. The second set of 3rd grade can't wait to go next week!

Kindergarten had a blast on their field trip to Dan and Debbie's yesterday! We are so lucky to have locally owned businesses we can explore and learn from! The rest of kindergarten will go today and enjoy a yummy treat!

Today we celebrate Ms. Abby for Administrative Professionals Day! Lakeview would not run as smoothly as it does without her. Happy Ms. Abby day. We love you! 🧡🖤
8th grade students came down to show our 3rd grade students their career presentations. Students heard many different job choices and paths they could take in their future. They provided many awesome career examples and the 3rd graders loved hearing all of the options!

It was a great week at Lakeview! Mrs. Westlund taught a comprehension small group in 3rd grade, got to dance with scarves in PKB, listened to Joey read a persuasive writing piece about having smoothies at school, and explored sandpaper in science with 2D! Bring on another week!
A huge shoutout to the incredible staff at Lakeview who shifted plans this afternoon, stood in the rain, entertained students for longer than expected and kept everyone safe and calm as we experienced a storm during dismissal today. You are top notch! 🎉🎉
Students at Lakeview are practicing bus expectations and their evacuation drills this week! Thanks Ms. Sarah for helping us be safe riders and thanks to all of our bus drivers who get us to and from school safely each day!
Friday our 2nd graders wrapped up their Insect and Plants unit with a visit from the Insect Zoo! Students got to chance to see, touch and learn about all sorts of creepy crawlers!
