WELCOME TO THE OFFICE OF TEACHING & LEARNING

The Solon Community School District's mission is to engage every student in opportunities to LEARN, LEAD, & GROW. This mission is illustrated across the outstanding learning opportunities provided to our students by the district's highly qualified teachers and responsive teaching practices and programming.

Our vision as a district is that every student graduates prepared for success. Whether your child is in kindergarten, fifth grade, or a senior in high school, our priority is to ensure they have the knowledge, skills, and tools to be successful after high school. We want to see our students thrive regardless if they attend a two year trade school, a four year college, join the military, or jump right into the workforce.

Through the use of high quality and ongoing evidence-based professional development, our teachers are provided opportunities to learn and grow as educators; tapping into new evidence-based practices that are proven to increase student achievement as well as engage students in relevant learning experiences to prepare them as learners.

Solon teachers and administrators are working towards creating authentic student centered learning environments where students' voices are included as a part of the instructional process. We know when students have control over their own learning, they are more engaged and motivated to share what they have learned and participate more fully in the learning process.

Our main priority as a district is to ensure our students are provided with learning opportunities that are engaging and support the district's mission and vision that will not only prepare them for academic success while attending Solon, but to prepare them for a future of success in life!
