Lakeview Feature Teacher: Sam Milder
Mrs. Milder is a wonderful 2nd grade teacher at Lakeview. She is currently implementing Book Clubs using the FPC book club materials and Reading Mini Lessons around having successful book clubs! This will allow Mrs. Milder's guided reading groups of above level readers (who cannot meet at the teacher table as frequently) to still be immersed in rich discussion with peers around texts they’ve read! After the class has received explicit instruction on how to build off of others’ ideas, mark pages to discuss with their group, and disagree appropriately, she will be able to get students to the point where they can facilitate these conversations as a small group while Mrs. Milder teaches her other guided reading groups!
Mrs. Milder is amazing! She is always willing to try new things, be reflective and thoughtful in her planning, and eager to give all students rich literacy opportunities!
