SIS TAG interacts w/ history through mock trials

Learning with students is my favorite part of being a principal! This morning I had the opportunity to join our SIS TAG students in their mock trial of Christopher Columbus. I had the responsibility of being the judge in TAG "court". Christopher Columbus and his crew were being charged with armed robbery with injury and murder. The students had to look at historical facts and bring a case in determining the guilt or innocence of the actions of Christopher Columbus and his crew. The students spent a great deal of time preparing for today's trial and both sides presented compelling arguments.

Thank you Mrs. Shah for providing our students with the opportunity to reflect, interact, and broaden their perspectives on historical events! We appreciate your thoughtful approach to developing independent and critical thinkers in our students!
