August 14, 2020

Dear Solon CSD Parents & Families,

Due to the magnitude of the damage caused by Monday’s storm, and days without electricity, internet, and other services, we are going to delay our student start date to Monday, August 31st.  It is imperative that we are able to implement all facets of the Return to Learn plan. Losing the ability to communicate with parents and staff hindered implementation of this plan and preparing fully for the start of the school year.

The delayed start date will provide district personnel additional days for training, orientation, and preparation for the safe return of all students to school. The delay will also allow building principals the opportunity to reschedule the informational webinars that were postponed.

The new start date for students is Monday; August 31st. Our Preschool start date will be Wednesday, September 2nd.

You will be receiving additional information next week from building principals about scheduled webinars and other topics related to your child’s 2020-21 school year.

We are excited for the school year to start and the opportunity to support our students’ social emotional wellbeing and academic needs in a safe, purposeful, and supportive environment. Thank you for your support and patience through these unprecedented times.

Sincerely,

Solon CSD District Administration
