To Our Solon Families and Community:

The Solon Community School District is excited to announce the official launch of the NEW district website on Friday, November 1st! The website's address will continue to be solon.k12.ia.us. Once the new website goes live, it may take a few hours for a complete transition from the old site to the new.

This new website will provide communication regarding district news more efficiently. It will be used to push out real-time information regarding activities across the district, weather related alerts, and provide easy access to districtwide documents and content to help parents, students, and community navigate the school district's programming and services.

In addition to the new website, the Solon App will be available for download from Apple and Android stores. The App will provide a condensed version of the website's content and will allow for push notifications when the district determines that critical information be shared with parents and the community. We encourage all parents, students, and staff to download the App onto their mobile and/or tablet devices.

This new website will be used to replace the current School Messenger system over the course of this year to communicate school and district information through voice and text messaging. We will be testing the new voice and text features in the coming weeks as we transition away from School Messenger by the end of this school year.

We are excited to see how this new platform for district communication will enhance our ability to keep our internal and external stakeholders informed.
