At Lakeview Preschool we believe that all students are a success. As teachers, it is our job to identify student’s strengths and build on them, while supporting them in learning concepts that may be a struggle. We work to ensure that students become independent, responsible and successful learners. In our preschool we help build positive relationships and problem solving skills with our students as they grow as a community.
Learning experiences should consist of many activities that accommodate for a variety of learning styles. Students learn in different ways and at different paces. We believe young children need to be encouraged to do things on their own. The individual successes that result will help promote positive self-concepts as the students are able to accomplish more and more on their own. Students need encouragement as they work toward independence and we will provide assistance as needed while they work toward this goal.
Lakeview Preschool uses The Creative Curriculum. We believe in theme-based approaches to learning and work to capitalize on the natural learning experiences that occur during centers. We follow thematic units incorporating various subject areas into each theme. We use developmentally appropriate practice to help student’s growth in Gross Motor Development, Fine Motor Development, Language and Communication, and Social and Emotional Development.
