        <title> Solon Spotlight Spaghetti Dinner April 8</title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;Mark your calendars for Thursday, April 8, for the annual Solon Spotlight Spaghetti Dinner. This will be held in the high school commons immediately before the Solon Musical Showcase concert. Spaghetti, salad, bread, drink and dessert will be available for $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Serving times are 4:45-7 p.m. Diners will enjoy pre-concert entertainment by the high school jazz bands, jazz choirs and the middle school show choir. Starting at 7:30 p.m. there will be a progressive showcase of musical talent in the high school gymnasium from fifth grade choirs and band continuing up to the high school choirs and band. Come and enjoy an evening of good food and great music. All proceeds from the spaghetti dinner will benefit K-12 performing arts programs at Solon Schools.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

        <title> Non-Public Transportation Reimbursement</title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;This is a reminder to those families who qualify for non-public transportation reimbursement. Forms must be filed in the Central Office by May 1, 2010, for second semester reimbursement. Forms are available at the Iowa Department of Education website: http://www.iowa.gov/educate/index.php?option=com_content&amp;amp;task=view&amp;amp;id=1257&amp;amp;Itemid=2145&lt;br /&gt;
or the forms may be picked up in the SCSD Central Office. Failure to submit your request by the May 1st deadline will result in the denial of the reimbursement request for the claim period.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>

        <title> HS Dance Team Tryouts</title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;Solon Varsity dance team will be holding tryouts April 16.  There will be a quick informational meeting for students during lunch on Thursday, March 25 at the middle school lobby and at the high school during seminar B on Friday, March 26.  There will also be a meeting for parents and dancers Tuesday, March 30 at 7 p.m. in the high school FCS Room (103). This is a chance for answering questions about the high school dance program.         <title> Summer Enrichment Offerings</title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;The school district will be offering summer enrichment courses June 14-July 1st, 2010. The classes will be announced the week of March 22nd. Students will not be bringing home the course offerings but copies will be available on the school&amp;rsquo;s website under the tab &amp;lsquo;Information,&amp;rsquo; then &amp;lsquo;Summer&amp;rsquo;, in each school office, BASP, and at the Solon Public Library after March 22nd. Registration forms and payment are due back to the SCSD Central Office by Friday, April 16.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

        <description> &lt;p&gt;This year&amp;rsquo;s Volunteer Appreciation Open House for school volunteers will be held at the Lakeview Media Center on Wednesday, April 21st, from 7:30 &amp;ndash; 9:00 a.m.  This year&amp;rsquo;s theme is &amp;ldquo;Volunteers Are the Recipe For Success.&amp;rdquo;  This annual event, held during National Volunteer Appreciation Week, is an opportunity for our administration, teachers, staff, and students to show their appreciation to our volunteers.         <title> SADD Kid's Night Out</title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;Friday, March 26 from 6-11 p.m., SADD will be hosting a Kid's Night Out for ages between 5-12 at the high school. Activities will be provided such as open gym, face painting, arts and crafts, movie room, and board games. Snacks will also be available for purchase. Cost is $10 per child and a registration form can be picked up at the high school office or register at the door for the same price. The concert will feature &amp;ldquo;Bella Voce&amp;rdquo;, Bass Clef Choir, Treble Clef Choir and the Concert Band.         <title> Dollars for Scholars 'Bringin' in the Green' Carnival</title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;The annual &amp;lsquo;Bringin&amp;rsquo; in the Green&amp;rsquo; Carnival will be held March 7th from 1-4 p.m. in the large Lakeview gym. All juniors and seniors are encouraged to pick up a shift to lend a hand to this great fundraising event for your scholarship fund. There are two shifts from 12:30-2:15 p.m. and 2:15-4 p.m. and they are also looking for parental help. Parents, please call the High School office at 624-3401, ext. 1102 to sign up to help.         <title> LV Parent-Student-Teacher Conferences</title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;Lakeview Parent-Teacher-Student Conferences will be held at Lakeview Elementary School on Wednesday, March 10 and Thursday, March 11 from 2-7 p.m. both days. Student spring report cards will be sent home on Tuesday, March 9. All K-4 Lakeview students will participate in spring conferences.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;In order to assist parents, Lakeview PTO will provide babysitting for all children not participating in conferences. Parents can sign their children into the babysitting service in the Lakeview large gym on both evenings.  Each participating family will be assessed a small fee for this service.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;During conferences, be sure to view the PK-4th art work displayed throughout the Lakeview halls and the media center.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

        <description> &lt;p&gt;Emily Janecek and Kierstin Appleby will be performing on the All Iowa Honor Dance Team.  They will be among over 270 dancers from all over Iowa who auditioned in September. Emily will be in the pom section &amp;quot;China Grove&amp;quot; and Kierstin will be in the kick section &amp;quot;Danger Zone&amp;quot;. The dancers will perform Saturday, March 6 during the halftime of the girls&amp;rsquo; 3A basketball championships. The performance will be televised on Fox 28/Channel 2.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

        <title> State Solo/Ensemble Contest @ Solon</title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;Solon will be hosting the State Solo and Ensemble Contest on March 27th with 61 entries from the band and 34 entries from the choir. There will be a follow up article with ratings. Parents are being asked to help with various roles such as room managers, warm-up room supervisors, timekeepers, and runners plus working the concession stand. For the performing centers, there are two shifts in the morning and two shifts in the afternoon.         <title> HS Spring Science Fair </title>
        <description> &lt;p&gt;The Solon HS Spring Science Fair will be Monday, March 29, 4-7 p.m. in the HS Commons. Over 100 students will be on hand to present their independent scientific investigations.  A three-round judging process concludes in a finalist round during the final hour of the fair, with winners earning cash scholarships from the Solon Math and Science Boosters. Please come and view the wide range of science projects our students have diligently been working on for this spring fair.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;</description>
