The Board of Education believes that the Solon Community School District provides its students, who come from varied backgrounds, the positive catalyst for formal education that helps them to develop skills needed to function independently in our society. We believe that all students can learn and should have equal access to opportunities that assist them in developing to their fullest potential. These opportunities and experiences should stimulate intellectual, personal, social and physical growth.

Board Goals
Curriculum: The SCSD will provide instruction, resources, programs, and training supporting all students demonstrating literacy proficiency.
Quality Staff: The SCSD will develop and implement a Staff Development program supporting curricular needs and an academic focus on literacy.
Student Success: The SCSD will review data and adapt/implement instructional practices and programs to support the academic success of each child in meeting the district achievement expectations in reading, math, science, and technology.
Technology Integration: The SCSD will utilize the vast possibilities of the digital age for changing how we teach and how students learn through increased accessibility for all students to technology resources and personally accessible technology.
Facilities/Resources: The SCSD will provide a learning environment that maintains, upgrades, and expands facilities to provide a safe and effective learning atmosphere for students, faculty, and community.
Facilities/Resources: The SCSD will provide a seamless coordination of existing funding and resource options and aggressively pursue opportunities to support student learning.
